I embroidered this raven in 2023 as a series of "gothbirb" stitches. Corvids have always felt like kin to me; they're silly and playful and smart and kind of annoying, and highly food motivated.

Relatable. 

I played with more muted colors in this piece, and relied more on stitch directions in the feathering to bring interest. I did a light watercolor wash on the yellow fabric, and added some branches for dramatic effect.

The hoop measures 6" round internally and is painted black. It can be hung with a small nail using the hoop hardware at the top.
